student work programme

sw conference 100200

Across the UK hundreds of churches are waking up to the possibility presented to them by having a university campus on their doorstep.

Many now look to either volunteer, part-time or fully-paid student workers to oversee their work in this sector.

As many are finding, church-based student work is a highly specialist activity, and student workers need a good balance of training, encouragement and know-how.  The Fusion Student Work programme is designed to provide church-based student workers with just that kind of support.  It is a free service, offered to all Fusion Connection churches and can run alongside any other training or support you might already have in place.

Over sixty individuals in the UK have already benefitted from this flexible approach.  The programme is tailored for you, so whether you are new to student work or an old-hand, there is a lot for you to connect with.  Fusion is working long term to see 100 student workers raised up around the UK.

[equipping You]

Three Student Work Equipping days and our annual Student Work Conference all held in a central national location, provide you with the bulk of our training curriculum. In previous years we have looked at modules on student culture, leadership, team building, vision casting and communication, working with volunteers, planning and goal setting, cell model implementation, theological foundations for student work and student discipleship, to name but a few.

[Resourcing You]

We will look to support you and your student work in the way that is most helpful to you.  The Fusion team are constantly travelling around the country and are there to resource and support you.  We also look to connect you with other student workers, both locally through our networkers and nationally through our gatherings of student workers where we share ideas and stories to catalyse and inspire your student work.  You will also have access to Fusion's published resources as well as some online specialist resources.

[developing You]

As we get to know you, we will look for other opportunities to stretch your experience.  Whether that's involvement in one of our conferences, helping to develop other local student workers or representing Fusion at a Soul Survivor or Spring Harvest event, we look to match your talents and gifts to the task.

We believe this is a great opportunity for your student work to benefit as well as you - as you receive a level of specific support and training that is unavailable in most churches.

Fusion student workers are pioneering a new wave of evangelical witness amongst students - will you join us?
