The Fusion Conference – Getting ready for the new student year

The Fusion Conference is just around the corner and we are excited to gather together. However, with all the chaos and disruption in the last 18 months how can we prepare?

When it comes to preparing for this new academic year there are all kinds of training and inspiration we could give but we believe at this time we should be gathering to wait on God. God who is not phased by the pandemic, who draws close to us in our confusion, frustration, and disappointments, and who remains faithful and steadfast, it is God’s presence and perspective we need.

And the waiting isn’t passive, it is more of a pursuit, a grappling and wrestling, with our gaze fixed on the Lord we will wait with eager attentiveness. The promise is sure, those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. Waiting dispels weariness, waiting replenishes, waiting gets us ready for the days ahead. Waiting lifts us to new vantage points, gives us new perspective and eyes to see what God is doing.

And after the waiting is the ability to walk confidently into the plans and purpose God has for us, to run the race marked out for us with heaven’s energy and inspiration. But to unlock the glorious purpose we are made for we must know how to wait, so come and wait on the Lord with us as we contend for God’s Kingdom to come in the universities.
