Go in the strength that you have

This Christmas and New Year has seen a lot of change in my life. Change that I didn't necessarily expect. Don’t get me wrong it's exciting, but it got me thinking…how is it possible for me to do this? I heard God’s voice so clearly in that instant…Go in the strength that you have

I wonder if there is anything facing you in the New Year that you don’t think you have the strength for. I wonder if you feel that people assume you are a mighty warrior and that actually God might have got the wrong person for the job.

God has a way of calling things out of you that you and other might not see. When God calls us to do something, He’s asking us to go in the strength we have and as we are, not of the strength that we wish we had.

Judges 6:14: The Lord turned to him and said, ‘Go in the strength that you have and save Israel out of the Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?’

The students in your church will be either heading back or will have already gone back to uni to revise for their January exams. January can be a tough time for students whether freshers or older as they return back to uni reality after Christmas. Remind them that they don’t have to be a superhero but that they have a God who is stronger, greater and more powerful.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
