Success Story!

Ben's student linkup success story

Before I left for uni I was filled with the combination of great excitement and a lot of nerves. When I went to uni, I knew I wanted to find a church but I just felt really concerned that I would find the right kind of church. One that I could serve and get involved at.

I had grown up in a church called Towy in Carmarthen so I had never looked for my own church before. Moving away to Leeds was a big step for a local welsh boy like me.

In the summer I met the Fusion guys on a stand in Soul Survivor. They told me about their studentlinkup app that I downloaded to help me find a church. I also bought a studentlinkup box and worked my way through that to prepare myself for uni.

The student worker from Life church Leeds messaged me on the studentlinkup app and I decided to check out the church he went to that Sunday. As soon as I walked in I loved it. It was really friendly and the type of church which I knew I could serve and volunteer at.

That first week in uni, I overheard two other guys on my course talking about church so I took them along to Life church too! They loved it as well.

Since then, I have become a committed member, I attend their student life group and serve through being on the Sound Team. I love it. Being part of a local church has definitely helped me walk through my fresher year well, helping me to live missionaly and love those around me.

If you like Ben are heading off to Uni this September, make finding a local church your priority! Download the student linkup app here and order a studentlinkup uni preparation box here
