Maybe God was all over this?

Sitting in the departure lounge in Basel airport on the return leg of our Escape and Pray trip, I was praying for opportunities to meet people and share with them. A guy sat down opposite us, let’s call him Dan, who we had met 48 hours earlier whilst we were trying to figure out how to get to Basel City Centre.

Dan came and sat next to us, and after a few minutes he began to open up about his life- it’s odd that he felt comfortable sharing this with strangers (maybe God was all over this?). We exchanged numbers and said our goodbyes when we touched down in Manchester.

A few days later I got a message from Dan, he wanted to meet up to chat, I said that would be good and we met up a few weeks later. He began to share that although he had all the material possessions he could hope for, he was unfulfilled, a people pleaser, and just wanted to be loved. I was able to speak truth into his life, that God loves him for who he is and can give him full life, I also shared my story along with some beautiful passages from the Bible.

Dan didn’t give his life to Jesus there and then, but he is now taking some time to consider what I said and whether he’s open to God. It’s now the Holy Spirit’s job to water the seeds, and I’ll definitely be there to introduce Dan to Jesus should he be open to him.

Could it be that God set up this whole trip so that we would have an encounter with Dan? I don’t know, but God certainly loves him enough to do that!
