We find it a privilege to welcome people from all over the world and all walks of life who are seeking to know God better in their exploration of the Christian Faith. We believe the Church exists to worship God, to strengthen the faith of believers, to create a loving and caring community, and to reach those with no church family.
The church enjoys vibrant worship across generations. We invite all to join us in exploring what the Bible has to say to us today!
Our church building is right in the middle of town on South Street, just before the arch.
Awake, our undergraduate student and young adult group, meets every Thursday night during term to share food, learn about God through the Bible, and support one another through conversations and prayer (see below for more information).
We also have a postgraduate home group that meets every Thursday evening for a meal, prayer, and Bible study.
What do we do for students?
Awake Undergraduate and Young Adult Group – 6:30pm Thursdays at St Andrews Baptist Church
Awake begins with a shared meal and short Bible talk or time of worship. Then students split into small groups for discussion and prayer. Small groups are typically co-led by a student and a pastoral support person from our church family. Whether you are new to Christianity or have been following Jesus for a long time, Awake is a safe place to ask questions and find mutual support and community.
Postgraduate and Young Adult Homegroup – 6:30pm Thursdays at Clay and Carmen Rowes' Home
We also have a Postgraduate homegroup that meets each week at the home of a lovely couple, Clay and Carmen Rowe. The group gets together, has dinner and a great time of worship and Bible study. It's a wonderful way to connect and get rooted.
Serving
There are lots of ways to get involved at St Andrews Baptist Church: welcoming, leading worship, championing social justice with the Micah ministry, children's church, and more! We are all about partnering together across generations to live out God's kingdom.
