Tower Hamlets Community Church
< BackAbout us
The church originated from a group of students from Barts hospital in the early 70s. We have continued to be a very local community church, most of our members live in tower hamlets. We aim to be a light and a positive influence in the area through our daily living and generally involvement. We are a mixed church in regards to age and ethnicity. We regularly see folk come to Christ. We have positive track record with other churches and we actively try to contribute to joint events or even initiate them.
What do we do for students?
Many of our students are involved in our thriving young people’s ministry, which includes a youth club, youth church, a youth café, and a new church football team for men. We encourage all members to be part of a mid week group and to be part of the general life of being part of a community church in an exciting inner city area. They have every opportunity to give in other ways to the life of the church especially musically we have a great worship ministry. There is also room to expand in new areas.
What do we do during freshers week?
We aim to have a stall with information, have a team of young people promoting the church, handing out flyers etc, host a social/meal, plug students into a cell.
