Alice was nervous. Only a few hours to go before her flight, and then she'd be off... She'd prayed about it, she'd dreamed about it, she was more certain it was right than anything she'd ever decided upon. Her heart broke when she thought of those families, those individuals in so much need, in need of help, in need of comfort, in need of strength, in need of a saviour. Looking at the photos on her bedroom wall she was filled with gratitude. Everyone was behind her, they'd been so encouraging, so enthusiastic. It was a bittersweet joy, leaving home and all that belonged now, into a future uncertain but profound. She might only be her, but everyone knows that one missionary can make a world of difference.
5. Church
It is the none or casual attendance of church that quickly erodes vibrant faith. If church is treated like an optional extra or a gym membership it becomes just another student consumer choice. Invariably those school leavers who decide to take a holiday from church during the student years rarely go back.
2. Drink
I’d been thinking about this night on and off for the previous few days and all the day before i had a sense of both nervousness and excitement. When it came to the evening and a time when I’d normally be thinking about going to bed, I was instead wide awake and sensing the adrenalin in my body. I was praying with the club mission team at Loughborough, wearing the club mission polo shirt and about to make my second appearance in fresher’s week, 17 years after my first!
Across this nation, something's shifting in the status quo...
Watch this, spread it, shift our student culture into new territory... and then hold the line.
