Run prep for uni sessions

Use the Student Linkup Trainer Pack to to run four fantastic, easy-to-prepare sessions to equip your guys for what comes next.

Opportunities to chat

In addition to formal sessions, regularly create space for school leavers to talk about their hopes and fears about starting uni.

Accountable relationships

Accountability at uni can make a massive difference. Encourage your School Leavers to be accountable to someone back home until they find people in their new city to form new accountability relationships with. Have these sorted before they leave.

Adopt a student

Out of sight but not out of mind. Encourage church members to adopt a young person heading off to university.

Connect them to a local church

Help your school leavers to explore and understand the theology of being part of a local church. Get them to sign up to Student Linkup,  to connect them to a new church at university and encourage them to check out local churches before they head off through our ‘Find a Church’ page.

Go the extra mile

Be prepared to drive to various universities to touch base with a student.

Commission them

Hold a commissioning service for young people going to university. University is a mission field and they are missionaries to their generation!

Let go and let God

Be willing to ‘let go’ of the young people. Recognise that not all students want to stay in close contact and you may lose discipleship connections with them. You can only do what you can do.
