Where to begin?

Confession time - I can be pretty chaotic and if I’m not careful this can spill out into my prayer life. Have you found yourself praying sporadically for different things with no consistency? Or maybe overwhelmed by the number of people you would love to be praying for, and unsure where to even start?

If you can relate to this, check out Livelife 1-2-3, a brilliant tool to sharpen your discipleship and give you some focus when praying. It also, has built-in accountability and mentoring. Yes please and thank you very much.

How it works

  1. Find a mentor, someone you trust and respect, someone you can learn from. Pray and ask God who He wants to put in your life to mentor you, He will make it clear.
  2. Grab yourself a 'running mate'. This is someone you are doing life with, or want to start intentionally doing life with. Commit to encouraging each other, celebrating what you are seeing God doing in each other's lives and commit to sharpening each other. Don’t be afraid to get lovingly cut-throat!
  3. Pick three people you want to see come to know who Jesus really is in their lives, and commit to praying for them every day.

This isn't just mentoring or accountability, this is discipleship.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”  Matthew 28:19

I started using this model in the summer before my second year of uni, and before heading back for the new academic year my “running mate” and I met with our new mentor for what felt like a very awkward coffee. Getting intentionally vulnerable can feel uncomfortable if you’re not used to it, but power through and start opening up, you won’t regret it.

We committed to praying for each other and praying every day for the three people we wanted to see come to know Jesus. Every single one of the people I started praying for is now connected with a church and have started to encounter the love of God!

I now don’t live in the same city as any of them, they are in new churches, with new communities of people who are also praying for them and championing them. This is so much bigger than you, God will answer your prayers in the most wonderful and interesting ways.
