Week 8 - Small Groups on Campus

Honor is a second year student at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, in Leeds. Before she came to uni Honor felt that God was wanting to use her time at uni really significantly. She had a picture of her uni as a warm pool and started praying that during her time there the spiritual temperature of the campus would be turned up, and that by the time she graduated, it would be like a jacuzzi!

For her first year Honor prayed, sought wisdom and dreamed about what could be. By the end of the year she’d settled on a plan to start a small group on campus, where those interested in exploring the Christian faith could meet, talk, pray and discover Jesus. Two weeks ago ‘Wonder’ met for the first time. It’s a registered society of the uni Student’s Union, and along with those Honor had been hoping and praying would come, others signed up that she wasn’t expecting at all. She’s invited a team of people to commit to praying for her and for 'Wonder' - they are cheering her on as she pioneers. It’s so encouraging to hear of students starting from scratch with brand new opportunities for their friends to discover Jesus. Just because no one has ever done it where you are, it doesn’t mean it can’t be done.

Every week of the academic year, we are sharing a story of student mission. If you have a story to share, let us know.
