Resonate: Discipleship: Speakers

This March, we will be looking at Student Discipleship at both our London and Sheffield Resonate Days.

We're privileged to welcome church leaders, national speakers, student work practitioners and those working to disciple young people to share their insights and help us hear from God for our student ministries. Do join us on the 1st March to hear from these great speakers and to share your own stories.

Sheffield speakers:

Joy Blundell: Joy is on the leadership team of Alive Church, Lincoln where she oversees the student ministry team amongst other roles. Joy will be speaking on discipleship as a calling. What does it mean to follow Jesus with our whole lives?

Chris Morgan: Chris has led the student work at Kings Church Durham for the last 7 years. He will be asking "How do we analyse the culture and context we are in? How does the campus and city we are living in affect the way we disciple students?"

James Brown: James leads the student work team at St Thomas Crookes in Sheffield. James is going to be asking “Is your life worth imitating?”- taking us beyond the transfer of information and lifestyle tick boxes into a deeper understanding of imitation and ultimately innovation in discipleship.

Luke Smith: Luke is Teams Builder at Fusion. He will be considering what it looks like to live a life of 'Long Obedience in the Same Direction'- looking at the difficult journey of following God through adversity.

London speakers:

Anne Calver: Anne is a Pastor at Stanmore Baptist Church in London. She has a background in youth ministry and mission as well as young adult leader discipleship. She will be speaking on Moses and how we can live a world changing discipleship walk.

Nicki Sudworth: Nicki is the Secondary Schools and Volunteers Lead at East to West. She will be taking a practical look at mentoring - an area, as student workers, that we can experience being keen and baffled about in equal measure!

Pippa Elmes: Pippa leads Fusion's Student Work Team. Pippa will be asking how some of the prevalent worldviews of our time impact our student discipleship. It will be a practical chance to wrestle with these perspectives in your context and come to some shared insights together.

Love Resonate Days?

Why not join us in September for the Student Work Conference - its a chance to get away with your team and with student leaders from across the UK (and beyond!) to prepare for the new year ahead. There will be excellent speakers, times of worship and prayer and opportunities to learn from one another as we pursue God's kingdom amongst the campuses of our nations.
