Are any of your young people going to uni next year? Would you value some training on how to prepare them really well? Do you fancy a bit of free support and help?

1) Fusion are offering some one-off training at their next Equipping Day in Loughborough (Dec 7th). Its aimed at youth workers who have young people going to uni in the next few years.

3) Jon Burns from More Than Gold will also be sharing with us ways to make the most of the Olympics as an opportunity for mission. Come and get some great ideas, advice and vision for mission with your young people in this next year and beyond.
We're aware that many youth workers feel the pressure of this big transition to university. Up to 70% of our young people are falling through the gap at this point and many youth workers feel nervous and ill equipped when facing it. I believe it is essential that we are able to give space for our young people to prepare themselves for all the joys and pitfalls of that big leap into independence. It’s such an amazing experience, and we want to make sure they’re equipped to live it to the full!
The training will look at some of the key issues in this transition and how to help your young people engage with and prepare for it. There’ll be practical advice, recommendations and testimonies from students and a chance to share hopes, fears and good ideas with other youth workers from across the country.
If there's a student worker at your church (or a friendly other local church), do bring them along too as these Equipping Days are usually for student workers and the main stream will be looking at missional student work - we just believe this topic is too important not to make space for where we can!
Do spread the word amongst your youth worker peers too – we’re aware this transition can be a big stumbling block for many of us leaders in the church. We want to do all we can to equip you to tackle it with confidence and great faith.
